Republican Baby

A data site, not a political one. It pairs two public datasets: the Social Security Administration's baby names by state for 2025, and the FEC's official 2024 presidential results. Its twin, democrat.baby, covers the other half of the country with the same method. Same publisher, same numbers, no advocacy.

Where is a baby name most common?

Type any name. You get where babies with that name were born in 2025, per birth, in the 31 states that voted Republican against the states that voted the other way, and the five states where it is most common.

Round one

Name battle

Two names, side by side on the scoreboard: births on each side, per 10,000, and which one leans harder.

Ten questions

The name quiz

Ten names with a clear lean. For each one, guess which side's states it is more common in, per birth. Only names with at least 1,000 births and a lean of 1.45× or more make the pool, so every answer is a real gap, not noise.

Baby names in the 31 states that voted Republican

31 States (by the official 2024 presidential result) recorded 1,676,090 named births in 2025 in the Social Security files. Here is what they called them, and which names set them apart from the other half of the country.

Names far more common here than in the Democratic-won states

Per birth, among names with at least 1,000 recorded births nationally in 2025. A value of 2× means the name appears twice as often per birth here as in the states the other side won. It describes where babies with the name are born, nothing about anyone's politics or background. Method and caveats.
